Seoul – alroya: The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman, in Seoul, hosted a travel and tourism forum in the presence of representatives from Korean travel and tourism agencies, a number of representatives of cultural and tourism institutions and various media specialized in travel and tourism. The forum was attended by Vice- Mebang Travel and representatives of Oman Air in Korea.
The meeting was opened by Ambassador Mohammed bin Salim Al Harthy, the Sultanate’s ambassador to the Republic of South Korea, where he made a visual presentation entitled “Amman, the land of Sindbad and the land of frankincense.” It included general features of the Sultanate and its modern rise, Explaining the strong relations between the Sultanate and the Republic of Korea, political and security stability and the safe economic and investment climate, and the international organizations’ praise for this. Al-Harithi highlighted the tourist elements that the Sultanate is rich in, especially the cultural and heritage aspects, the geological nature and promotion of the Sultanate as a tourist destination. He pointed out that the Sultanate enjoys great importance as one of the destinations of tourism due to its distinguished location, political stability and security, its diverse tourist elements, diverse and unique terrain, sophisticated infrastructure, excellent services and authentic Omani hospitality.
Mr. Kwan, Vice President of Mibang Aviation, the airline’s representative in Korea, presented a visual presentation of Oman Air as a national carrier for the Sultanate and the promotion of travel from Korea via Oman Air from the Sultanate’s connecting lines from various Asian cities. Mr. Kim, Director of GS Travel Agency, gave a visual presentation about the Sultanate and the tourist elements. He also reviewed some of the tourist attractions in various Omani cities visited by Korean tour groups organized by his office. The exhibition included a photo exhibition that embodies landscapes and various tourist areas in the country from Sohar, mountains, valleys and valleys, beaches and sand beaches, and features of the modern Renaissance. A documentary film about the Sultanate and tourist attractions, a film and a visual presentation of Oman Air and the program and schedule of trips were also distributed. Booklets, pamphlets and optical discs were distributed to the most important tourist attractions. Omani guests enjoyed the scent of frankincense, coffee, dates and Omani sweets, which are known throughout Oman as a symbol of Omani hospitality. They also visited the various heritage exhibits at the Embassy Museum.
During the meeting, they discussed with the participating tourist offices about the mechanism of cooperation and organizing tourism trips to the Sultanate. The participants in the forum expressed their admiration for the Sultanate and its many unique and varied tourist elements, making it an attractive tourist destination for Korean tourists. Many expressed their desire to visit the Sultanate and cooperate with the tourist offices in the Sultanate to organize tourist trips to the Sultanate.
