Al Mughsayl Beach
Al Mughsayl Beach is probably the most famous tourist attraction in Dhofar. The beach is liked by the locals and tourists alike. Al Mughsayl is a long stretch of blue water sea and white sand. The landscape is pretty nice and the beach has mountains on both the sides, which make the view elegant and photogenic. It’s a perfect picnic spot.
Huts at Mughsayl Beach are very traditional in style. The are made large enough to accommodate an entire family. Besides sitting area, the hut provides barbecue making area for grilling your lunch.
Surrounded by caves and mountains this beach is hidden in Salalah, southern Oman along the coastline towards the Yemeni border, it boasts partially collapsed caves that have created wonderful blowholes. In the preferred conditions, great fountains of seawater explode up into the air out of blowholes. There are coconut groves and banana plantations that grow right up to the water’s edge during the summer months. Mughsayl Beach could rival those of the Caribbean based on the warm blue waters and gold sandy beaches. Not all that far past Mughsayl is the steep mountain ranges and cliff edges that tower and hide something known as the “Furious Road”, actually it is a strip of tarmac twisting repeatedly back in on itself in an effort to conquer the great peaks and make its way into Yemen.
